Eight Ways Our Family Reduces Our Exposure To EMFs

Did you know that the electromagnetic fields (EMFs) produced by mobile phones are classified as possibly carcinogenic to humans?

There are mainly 3 types of EMF:
1 - Electric Fields (think of voltage and electrical wiring)
2 - Magnetic Fields (think of electrical items and appliances)
3 - Non-Ionizing Radio Frequency (think of anything wireless)

And there are also:
1 - Natural EMFs
and
2 - Man Made EMFs

The natural EMFs are the natural magnetic fields that come from the earths core. The ones you want to access when doing your barefoot grounding. Or the electric fields created naturally by thunderstorms.

The man-made EMFs have been created by man and includes electric blankets, power lines, wiring, appliances, computers, everything wireless, including Bluetooth, Airpods, WiFi, Cell towers, smart meters, smartphones, smart watches, any wireless item you have.

My go-to for all EMF-wisdom is @techwellness and she shared that we are exposed to 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 times more radio frequency than we were just 10 years ago. Tech Wellness also includes studies on her website on EMFs and the blood brain barrier, stress, fertility, pregnancy, cancer, the list goes on and on.

Given that studies are ongoing to assess the potential long-term effects of EMFs on humans, we are choosing to minimise our exposure when we can and how we can and when we remember to. Here’s how we’re doing that:

  1. We unplug our wifi at nighttime and have hardwired available.

  2. We no longer use a wireless baby monitor.

  3. We don't have phones or devices in our bedroom at night.

  4. We take our phone calls on speaker mode when possible.

  5. We choose not to use a microwave.

  6. We choose not to live close to high voltage power lines.

  7. We use Radiation Protection Chips in our cellphones.

  8. We choose not to use airpods or wireless headphones.
